iPads in Education – Enhancing student learning by Lynda Cutting


So much of maths is requires our students to be hands on, problem solving, investigating, analysing, recording, documenting and reporting and iPads are perfect for this.

The camera alone is a powerful maths tool,allowing students to record and document their work. Combined with creation apps to document learning and thinking such as Educreations, Pic Collage, Phoster, Haiku Deck or Strip Desgner or the myriad of outstanding maths apps that go beyond simple drill. The iPad can enhance your maths program and inspire and extend student learning.

If you are interested in inquiry based maths than this website is perfect for you. It is full of great hands on maths investigations grouped into levels as primary, middle school and high school. It also includes suggestions for essential questions and how to create them.

This is an interesting site that collects a huge range of resources on just about any topic.I especially like the maths activities like this range on “squares”.Just search in the bar at the top of the page for the topic you are interested and changes are that you will find something useful,
