Fitness

IMG_7819Personalisation of learning is one of the “holy grails” of teaching and as iPads are primarily a personal device they fit very neatly with the concept of creating individualised, personal fitness programs.

Fitness in 7 minutes, 7 times a week. This  gamified approach to fitness is designed for adults but would be suitable for older students. Students start off with 3 lives and everytime time they skip a day they loose a “heart”  – miss too many and the game starts over again. Last the distance for 7 months and become a  7/7 champion.

This app is nicknamed “Pandora for gym rats”. Rather than spending hours finding just the right music to get kids moving this app has it all for you with more  than 45 genres and stations. The music is even sorted but beats per minute if you want to set a specific pace and you can create your own playlists or use one of their custom mixes or DJ-curated playlists. It’s free and there are so many ways this music could be used, students could even create their own individual training music!

This is a really fun and funky way to get students running using a music based  game. To level up in the game  and students have to run and keep to the beat of the music. If they succeed they collect points and move on to the next level – personalised training to music.
