iPads in Education – Enhancing student learning by Lynda Cutting

Generating Safe YouTube Links

zzYoutube us a powerful learning tool and the second biggest search engine on the planet. It has so many amazing possibilities but for classroom use the “guff” down the right hand side can be a problem. From things that we just don’t want our students to see to things that distract, but there is a way to get rid of all this. Run the Youtube link through a website that will “clean up” it up and allow students to view the video on a clean, distraction free page.

This works beautifully when creating QR Codes. It is an extra step but well worth it.You can use them via their website or install a bookmarklet onto your toolbar. To clean up a clip you simply copy the YouTube URL – Paste it into SafeShare TV or ViewPure site and go to the safe site – Then copy that link into your QR Code generator. This video might make it a bit clearer
